Pretty in Pink

I admit I have never had a propensity for pink.  As a native New Yorker, most of the time, I lean towards black and grey.  When I'm feeling adventurous, perhaps I experiment with blue and purple.  Pink, however, is not part of the rotation.  That is, until last week when I inadvertently came across a Trina Turk frock that was beckoning me from the sale rack.  I dubiously allowed it to accompany me to the fitting room and from the moment I slipped it on, I was hooked.  Perhaps it was the St. Tropez self-tanner I had just applied that morning or maybe there were magical mirrors installed unbeknownst to me.  Whatever the reason, I was feeling daring that afternoon and I made an impulsive purchase.  I wore it to my son's Communion this past weekend and received numerous compliments.  So, Dearest Pink, I apologize for casting you to the side.  I promise to never breeze past you again.  In case you are not convinced of the persuasion of pink, here are a couple of more reasons to embrace spring's prettiest sidekick.

  3. I recently bought a top in "neon azalea" from J.Crew and was a little self-conscious because it's so bright--your dress's color gives me the confidence to go forth and be pink and proud!
