Beachy Keen

On Sunday, we celebrated our twelve wedding anniversary.  It was a quintessential early June evening...a pink sunset accompanied by a mild breeze.  I suggested to my husband that we take a ride down to the beach and enjoy a pre-dinner glass of wine paired with some cheese and crackers.  So, we (or should I say he) packed a cooler full of treats and off we went.  Of course, we were forced to laugh at ourselves when our romantic moment was interrupted by the inconvenient wind that blew our plastic cups over and we both got splattered with our favorite Malbec.  After a brief moment of feeling sorry for myself, I was grateful that I chose a dark pair of jeans that could segue from mishaps at the beach to dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant. I am all about dressing once for multiple situations and locations.  I prefer ensembles that merely need a bit of tweaking to take me from point A to point B.  That is why I opted for this nautical striped sweater (similar here)Joe's ankle jeansthese wedges (similar here), and this straw tote (similar here). If I swap out the wedges for riding boots and the straw tote for a leather option paired with a blazer, this outfit can take me well into Fall.

Homemade Lemonade

Amazingly, we went from turtlenecks to tank tops within one week.  So, when the temperature rose to a balmy eighty-five degrees here in New York over the weekend, I was inspired to cool down with a go to summer beverage, homemade lemonade.  Surprisingly, thanks to this simple recipe, it was a breeze to make. I think my next move might involve a charming lemonade stand.  I wonder, what's the going rate these days for a refreshing drink in between a game of wiffle ball and a turn on the slip 'n slide?  A family meeting might be in order.  Cheers!
